Prepare a source checkout and build frontend assets.

1. Prepare tools

Use PHP 8.3+, Composer 2.x, Node 20+, npm 10+ and a supported MySQL or MariaDB database. Obtain an authorized source checkout from your team or the configured public repository.

2. Install dependencies

composer install
npm install
npm run build

3. Configure and check

Copy .env.example to .env, configure your database and generate the application key. Never commit credentials.

php artisan key:generate
php artisan wento:doctor
php artisan wento:install
php artisan serve

4. Understand the architecture

The admin uses Inertia and React with the admin session guard. The same-origin storefront uses React and REST endpoints under /api/v1 with Sanctum cookie sessions.
