Installing WentoCart

Suggest an edit

Install the community ZIP and complete the browser setup wizard.

This guide helps you install WentoCart on your hosting account or computer. The merchant ZIP includes prebuilt frontend assets.

1. Check system requirements

Use PHP 8.3+, MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB 10.4+, and the required PHP extensions. See System Requirements for the full checklist.

2. Download WentoCart

Download the community installation ZIP and verify its checksum on the Download page.

Download v1.0.0 (ZIP) ↓

3. Install on hosting

  1. Extract the archive and upload the application files.
  2. Keep private files outside your public web directory. Set your domain document root to the application’s public folder.
  3. Create an empty database and a database user with permission to create and update its tables.
  4. Open your store URL. Follow the setup wizard to check compatibility, configure your store, connect the database and create an admin account.
  5. Choose whether to load demo data, then finish the wizard. The installer locks after completion.

4. Install on your computer

With PHP 8.3+ available, use Install.vbs on Windows, install.command on macOS, or install.sh on Linux/macOS. The helper starts the browser wizard on port 8099.

chmod +x install.sh
./install.sh

5. Test the installation

Sign in to the admin, review the store URL, add a product and complete a test checkout. Confirm order information, shipping, taxes and notifications before inviting customers.
